This Fortis backplate carries a classic keyhole set 56 mm from the handle opening, the spacing used by the lever locks in most older Dutch interior doors. We supply it for renovation work where the existing lock stays in place but the hardware deserves an upgrade. The champagne PVD coating lends a subtle golden warmth to white and pale timber, and it holds its colour far better than a lacquered finish.

• Stainless steel body with a hard-wearing champagne PVD finish

Which door is this for?

Measure from the centre of the handle hole to the centre of the keyhole before ordering: if that distance is 56 mm, this backplate lines up with the holes you already have. It is the usual figure for panelled doors in pre-war and mid-century houses. Doors fitted with a euro profile cylinder need the PC55 version from the same Fortis series instead.
